Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - PPS renewal - just under $25k?
Does anyone know how generous SQ is with PPS renewals where you don't achieve the $25k spend on J/F?
I will be at around $23k by my renewal date. I have some other flights currently on QF which I could switch to SQ, but the flight times are really inconvenient.

AFAIK if you don't have any residual to make up the difference from previous years, you will not be renewed. If you use any of the residual, again AFAIK you don't advance in PPS years. I don't know the process for claiming residuals or if it's automatic. Residuals have 3 years life span.

For some long-term PPS Solitaire that are falling short of requalifying there have been offers to requal on a lower threshold (but no requal gift and no advancing of the number of years qualified).

In 09 I was about $3000 short (after 7 years' consecutive qualifications) but was given a further year "in recognition of the difficult economic times". Nice of them. Luckily since then have been flying a lot. This year I'll get my $25k in the first six months.

Ditto. I was $2.5k short in 09 and I was 5 years QPPS at the time. No requalification gift though.
I made TPPS later in 09 and have just requalified through to Mar 12. Being Solitaire now, I'm building a pretty substantial reserve value.

Just got an email from SQ:
Dear Mr General_Flyer,
2009 has been a difficult one for all of us and we understand that this has contributed to less travel on us, especially in the premium classes.
In appreciation of your loyal support, we are happy to extend to you a special consideration for renewal of your current PPS Club membership. Simply accrue PPS Value of at least S$10,000 before the end of your membership year on 31 December 2010* and we will renew your PPS Club membership for one year to 31 December 2011.
As a member of the PPS Club, you will continue to enjoy higher priority and greater level of service, such as a 100% increase in baggage allowance, check-in at premium counters, use of the SilverKris lounges, priority waitlisting and much more.
I'm just a 1st year PPS.. I have only 1 flight before the end of the year.. Hope it makes it.. If it doesn't, am planning on trying CX F by mid-year next year.. :D
interesting.
I think I should now be ok, as I have just booked an unplanned SIN - LHR trip in a couple of weeks, so I should requalify on $ spent.
