US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - double miles & upgrades

Does anyone know if the double status miles will count toward the earning of upgrade certs. Silver's get 4 for every 10k miles. and Gold's get 8 for every 10k miles.

Anyone know?

I don't know yet, I just passed a threshold so should be getting more certificates soon.

Also, I will be talking to Silver customer service on Monday regarding other related issues. I may ask them about this then.

Since they count as preferred miles (i.e. toward elite status) I would think they count toward upgrades. If you look at your account online it appears that they are including the double miles in the count.

Just bringing this one forward. Just received my humble Silver Preferred set of 4 upgrades for hitting 10k Preferred Miles. Given that it appeared that the upgrades were generated right after I hit 10k actual miles (including class of service bonus, but not including double mile bonus), I'd say that the double miles do not count for earning upgrade certificates. I hit 10k with the bonus a good while ago - so since 10k actual meant certs followed - I think this is the way they're handling it.

What's been y'all's experience on this?
