I am headed to PHL tomorrow morning from CDG and checked into the Hilton this evening to be close to the airport in the morning. Got to my room and opened the drapes and what should appear in front of my eyes but a great big USAirways Airbus. It apparently is still in Europe doing some test flights and is parked here at CDG for a couple of days. The plane really looks nice and can't wait to get on it in May!

What a bargain: first class from PHL-CDG-PHL is only $9,535.99. Better jump on it before it sells out!!!

The new A-330 just received its water cannon salute at MIA... it's there at the airbus training facility. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I wonder if they're going to break the A-330 in on domestic routes for a few weeks, similiar to the way Delta does with their 777s?

Believe it or not, there is word that the new system schedule out for this summer shows 767's returning to the west coast (LAX) and the A-330 going to (gulp) San Juan! Can you believe it! Maybe each new A-330 that shows up on US property will be cycled through SJU as proving runs until the planes and crews log enough time in the air to head transatlantic... Rumor also has the A-330's being used from PHL to the west coast (LAX and SFO, I would imagine) in a 3 class configuration just as United and AA have "Flagship" 3-class service from IAD and JFK to the west coast. It's going to be interesting around here..... now all we need is an announcement on a global alliance. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Wait till you get on one of the A330s that Airbus proposed to El Al. They said they could install a Jewish sanuctuary on the lower deck complete with an ark on a moveable track so it can always face Jerusalem!
