Also, I don't know if this is new or has been mentioned before and I didn't see it, but US is also offering 5,000 bonus miles for first time online bookings ... a pretty hefty bonus!

not new, but still a hefty bonus for first time users.

Somewhat like a last minute sale of deck chairs on the Titanic
Think "discretionary" is the real key word here - highly so, barring a last minute settlement!!! Hoping there is.

Even if there is a strike, I wouldn't think it would last for very long ... the sales are for a few months into the future ...
I'm going to DC in May, and if the US Airways flights get to be significantly less expensive than the DL flights, I might just take the chance and book 'em. Right now the differenice is only $11, not much considering that includes an extra stop each way on DL.
The fares range from good to not so good..
Good : PIT-LAS $189 R/T
Not so good: PIT-IAH $189 R/T (spring esaver)
Even worse: PIT-IAH $238 R/T (other esaver)
The airline will survive, in one way or the other. I'm willing to bet bookings in May and beyond on that. Even April IMHO, but that may be a bit risky for some folks.

Well, I'm waiting to book my MSY-DCA trip in early May ... have a feeling I may be able to do better than the $205 I can currently get once this is straightened out or maybe even before then ...
I agree with that. Assuming the airline survives, there is a decent chance it will have a 'lets get customers back at low prices' type fare sale. I'm just waiting over the opportunity to book the rest of the year's trips including the FAQ http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
