For Preferred members who don't travel internationally on business, there is a great opportunity to use the international upgrade certificates for personal travel.
Through March 16, there is a sale on travel between Charlotte-Frankfort, Charlotte-Paris, and Philadelphia-Manchester, with fares as low as $400 rt (see www.usair.com (http://www.usair.com) for details). These fares CAN be upgraded with our certificates. The outbound segment must occur on or before August 31.
I purchased a round-trip PHL-MAN ticket for $500 (on an extended holiday weekend) and used the certificates to upgrade both legs. $5600 worth of travel for $500! I never dreamed I'd go to Manchester, and don't currently have the slightest idea what I'm going to do once I get there. But this was too good to pass up.
