Other Hotel Programs - The Shangri-La smell!

What is it about Shangri-La that they have this really strong fragrance as soon as you enter the lobby? While it can be manageable at the likes of Shangri-La Jakarta, Taipei or Kuala Lumpur, oftentimes the smell is very intoxicating, and almost at choking levels like those of Shangri-La Hong Kong, Kowloon or Makati!

Old post but it so happened that I have googled about it...love the smell, got hooked on it from going daily from the office I used to work in Shanghai to the shopping center across the Shangri-La lobby...I then bought the fragrance (they actually sell it!). It is like an oil you put on a burner with water and hmmmmmm...so nice...tomorrow going to SL Singapore, will check if this is still for sale for sure!

I like it, too. On a related note, my welcome letter yesterday at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria in Kota Kinabalu said that there were four "signature scents" available for the room -- jasmine, passion fruit, lemongrass, and I forget the other one. I was too lazy to call down and have them apply this scent, but now I am curious to see what it entails.

I remembered reading an article somewhere that they call the shangri-la scent the 'shangri-la essence'
