Amtrak Guest Rewards - Weird Photoshop of Cascades Train on Google Maps?

Check this out:

It would appear to be a Cascades train caught in the action, rounding the curve northbound into Portland's Union Station. But zoom in, and there's clearly something wrong with the image...namely, the rear of the train just disappears into thin air. I don't know enough about Google maps to know if this is a problem with the satellite photo process, or whether someone at Google made a clumsy attempt at pasting a train into the landscape. Any theories?

Adjacent satellite images on Google Maps are often taken at different times and stitched together, so that would be the easiest explanation. I often see it manifest with fog or clouds that abruptly stop, or sudden differences in daylight. If these are indeed two images taken at different times, the daylight looks just about identical, adding to the hilarity factor. :p

Yep. A moving object that long has a good chance of being sliced up as it moves between grids.
