I'm going to have a 4.5 hour layover in STL following a positioning flight for the dbl elite promo. Anyone have a layover favorite outside the airport? Any good BBQ in town?
Suggestions on time killers and a good meal are appreciated.

Take the MetroLink train from the airport and go to Union Station (http://www.stlouisunionstation.com/index.cfm). You'll find restaurants and some fantastic history and architecture.

Agreed, this is the best plan for the time you have available, no rental car, and good restaurants. ^ If the weather's nice and you're interested, you can stroll east a few blocks, check out the Arch. You'll see it from Union Station. There are Metro stops close by that will take you back to the airport (or to Illinois if you make a mistake and catch an eastbound!)

We will allow this thread to percolate for a bit in the AA Forum, then it will be moved to the Midwest Forum (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/midwest-455/), where there should also be some good info available via Search.
