I was a grateful recipient of a Velocity Silver gimme last year, I was awarded Silver before I reached the 25,000 threshold. We all got the Gold gimme* emails, as you may recall, but this was a system error. Does anybody know what the actual threshold for a gimme* to Gold is? I'm getting close to 30,000 points this year but won't qualify (50,000) by Nov 30th. I do have an Etihad flight in December which is enough to requalify me for Silver. I was hoping to qualify for Gold in time for this so as to get lounge access.
