Looking for tips on Shuttle services from HOU to the Galleria area.... I will most probably be arriving on Jet Blue so what are my best options if I want to forgo normal Taxi Service...? Are there also reasonable Mass Transit options to consider..?
Thanks,

I looked on the Metro site for you, and it looks like Route 73 goes from the airport to the Galleria area. http://www.ridemetro.org/SchedulesMaps/Pdfs/073-bellfort.pdf
It doesn't look very practical as it takes almost 1.5 hours to take that bus route.

The only folks who use municipal transit to/from either Houston airport are those who 9a) work at one or the other, and (b) fall into "low(er) income catgories. Few of them live close to the Galleria.
"Super Shuttle", 713.523.8888, www.supershuttle.com is probably your best bet. All things considered, if I were at a hotel which didn't charge for parking, I'd rent a car.

Interesting, I make an income in the comfortable 6 figure range, and use the public transport all the time- I didn't realise I was poor...I didn't get rich by spending my money on limos and cabs. If you are expensing it, what the hell, go for the limo.
In fact, I've taken the 73 bus a couple of times from Hobby. The reason the bus is slower is it takes mainly city streets, hits near Rice and the Med center, cuts through West U where I reside when in Houston, and then to the Galleria. Not bad for a 1.25
Yes there can be many characters on the bus, but we have that here in Italia, and in many other places on the planet. I've sat by some major f#c$ nuggets in int'l first class before. They don't just exist on buses. But I digress.
Also to note, though off-topic, The 15$ (10 if you fly CO) Bush direct service is great, 30 minutes from IAH to Downtown.
With all that said (or typed) I'd concur that renting a car is not a bad option if you plan to travel outside the loop. Rental cars are often cheap around town.

There's a hotel right smack dab inside the Galleria mall, I think it's the Marriott. They *may* have a courtesy shuttle to/from Hobby. In fact pretty sure they do. Why not stay there, if you haven't made hotel arrangements yet? Or see if they can charge you for using their airport shuttle? If not, why not good old fashioned SuperShuttle.
And by the way, I would not use the public transportation either, it IS scary.

Another feckless comment. The public transport is not scary, unless you are an untravelled, uncultured boob...
Or do you just think the "poor" will rub off on you if you ride a "bus"?
You want to know what can be a problem with supershuttle? Well, their drivers are often very bad, and depending on how many are in the shuttle, you can take 2+hours to get where you are going. I've had employees take 2.5 hours to get home on it, due to all the stops it had to make. If you get lucky and are the only stop, you will be fine, but buyer beware.
