I am a Sixt Gold Card traveller, however the last three times I took a car, I feel I have been legged over by them:

1. Charges of EUR 250 for an apparent scratch at NCE airport, despite an all clear from the car-return-agent, and I did not see anything either (July)
2. Charges of EUR 250 for a scratch at HAJ airport, despite an all clear from the car-return-agent, agin I did not see anything (July)
3. Charges of EUR 157 for returning a car without tank, despite me having the car filled up 5 mintues before returning the car at the gas station at the airport (I have the receipt), and the car-return-agent telling me, all is fine, no additional charges (September)

Sixt don't return mails or letters. They also don't make fotos available to prove their point. This starts looking systematic to me.

If they have a problem with the car the return-car-agent should tell so right away, should he not?

Moving over to Hertz now from next month on.

If you read a bit further through this forum, you could find all kinds of suggestions on how to handle this:

1. Ask for photo proof with date and time of the damage
2. Ask for an actuall bill of the repair
3. Have your creditcatd company reject the charges, this will get their attention for sure
4. Send a letter via registered mail, give them about 10 days to respond, threaten legal action.
5. File a police report against them

I would not give my money away like that. Ever!

Also, you write you are a Sixt gold card owner, they donīt care. They evetually care if you are Diamond!

Each case is judged on it's merit not on status. Why don't you send me some details too and I'll review your issue.

Nobody here at Sixt believes that we are perfect, but we do all want the customer to have a great rental and to come back to Sixt again and again and again. If we have made a mistake I will correct it.

Best regards
Gary

Don't know about other countries (and the applicaple law), but at least in Germany the rental car company must PROVE to you that you did the damage (as per a lawyer in a case I once had).

So at least on the rental returned in HAJ you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to worry about.
