InterContinental Hotels Group Stay Forum - HIX - Taoyuan (Taiwan)

I stayed here a couple of times in the last month, both times before taking early flights from TPE. I was very impressed with both the hotel and the staff.

The hotel is located quite a way from the centre of Taipei but is near to the international airport (about a 15 minute drive away). The area around the hotel has several shopping areas and the huge TaiMall. There are also many restaurants all withing walking distance.

The hotel building is not new, but the inside renovation has been done to such a high standard that it appears to be a new HIX. Both of the rooms I stayed in were very comfortable, with one of them having a very impressive panoramic view.

Hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. Every time I got them to order me a taxi (which always seemed to arrive in less than a minute) they went outside with me when it came and closed the taxi door after me. If it was a taxi to the airport, they thanked me for staying and said they hoped I would return.

I had a problem with the Wi-Fi in my room. As soon as I told them about it, the lady behind reception asked an employee who was clearing tables after breakfast to go and look at it for me. He came to the room with me and fixed it in around 5 mins.

Very impressed and will definitely return.

I recently stayed in two brandish new HIX in mainland China and was pretty impressed as well. The Buffet breakfast were both less than great, but the rooms were far better than I expected.
