Wyndham Rewards - Double point promo (Sept. 2010)

Looks like WR is doing a number of different promos. I was doing a road trip with a friend (OAK-OH to pick up an old Airstream trailer, long story,) and while booking online, I received a message that I could register for double points. 3 of the 4 stays posted with bmi miles and 10 points per dollar.

On a side note, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the stays were posting the day after the stay. And, the notation of "transfer to bmi" showed up immediately as well. A refreshing change after the fiasco when bmi became a partner and WR had the bonus miles promo, which required some old school effort to get to post.

I noticed the promo. I posted a while ago about how all the promos have to do with bonus miles on airlines but not bonus points for WR. That isn't where WR's focus should be as it's a hotel company first and foremost.

I am happy to see this promo and hope WR considers this the first of many. Thanks to WyndhamRewards is s/he had anything to do with it.

(Not to seem ungrateful WyndhamRewards, but now we have to work on satisfying my other pet peeve about the WR program...let's get all stays, even those booked with discount codes, on the EVRentals site counting towards the WR program. Can we work toward that? Please??? As I previously posted, you competition, namely Hilton and Starwood, give points in their timeshare properties to their repsective loyalty program even on discounted stays so getting on the bandwagon just makes WR competetive. Thanks.)

I tried to register for this and for the free night promo, got the "Turns out you're not eligible for this promotion" message for each; also found out my point balance has been zeroed out even though I have had several stays over the last few years.

Furthermore, I had a 3-night stay at a Hawthorn Suites in January and I received no points for that stay either. I use my Wyndham Rewards number on every stay, in fact all have been booked online using my number.
