I have a MR next week and I want to take advantage of US airways Grand slam for 100k miles by staying at Motel 8. However, I am 17 years old so I am not sure will I be able to check in.
I'm college sophomore, live on my own, run my own company, have my own credit card, dress up professionally and never be carded to get alcohol drink in F when I fly.

I can use my passport to check in since it doesn't say "age 18 on 1/1/2011" like my driver license.

I will check in really late(probably midnight) so I am not sure does this factor influence my chances of being caught or not.

Do you think I will be able to get away with it?:D

Not sure in the states but in the UK and Europe there isnt a age limit as such. I cant see why there would be to be honest.

In the states hotel rooms are sometimes used for parties and get trashed, so sometimes there is a restriction on renting rooms to anyone under 21.

Being 17 might also be an issue because there may be liability issues since minors usually cannot be held legally responsible.

And are you staying at Motel 6 or Super 8? There is no Motel 8.

I would check with the hotel first. Better to be sure that it will/won't work than to be stuck without a place to stay.
