Wyndham Rewards - Fastest way to add new activity to account?

I have about 2600 points that have been in my account since March 22, 2009, and I just realized that these will probably expire later this month if I don't get any new activity.

Granted, this is not a lot of points, but I had been thinking about getting the WR credit card anyway. So I just signed up for the card.

However, the bonus points usually take many weeks to appear, so I'd like to either redeem or earn a few points in a manner that will post quickly.

As far as I can see, the only redemption opportunity I can afford would be a restaurant.com GC for 2200 points. Is there anything else I have missed?

Or is there a quick way to earn points other than a hotel stay?

I know, I know, I should have taken care of this a few months ago.

Do points disappear if my only activity has been miles-earnings stays? Or are miles-earnings stays "activity enough" to keep my points alive?

(I've had several stays in recent months, but whether because of airline promos or other reasons, these were all miles-or-credits earning. But I have points from points-earning stays a year or two ago.)
