Not before 2012. In fact SFO is getting F back Jan 19th 2011, for example. Best I can tell there is no set conversion schedule for the 744s, and it seems the next few A380 deliveries will have F (but rumoured to be without F starting in 2012 deliveries; though I find it hard to believe that QF will run a mixed A380 fleet and think that is just a wild rumour). The 744 conversion is interesting as the 2-class to 3-class is happening as we speak but it looks like the 4-class are here to stay for a few years (maybe QF is looking at a new J seat that is more pitch efficient while being flat and level :) ).

SFO did have F available again. They've now ceased it and doing the old cabin re-distribution. The QF73/74 flights i'm taking in a few weeks originally had F, and one day F vanished from EF, and the seat maps showed Zone A as J again.

I'd not be surprised if they did this again after Jan 19th (and I fully intend on taking advantage of it as I tend to take QF73/74 a few times a year seated in Y+ seats as Y service ;))

New Seats and Inflight Entertainment for Qantas B747s (http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/dyn/au/publicaffairs/details?ArticleID=2010/feb10/4017)
The upgrade and reconfiguration program will commence at the end of 2011 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013. It will be funded through the combination of operating cash flows and pre-existing debt facilities. The majority of capital expenditure will take place in 2012.

QF will definitely have 2 different cabin configurations for the A380. The first 12 delivered will be 4 class. The remaining 8 will be in a 3 class congifuration

Every airline that has had a mixed-config fleet, even mildly mixed, has regretted it. For example the AA Atlantic/Pacific 777 config which was similar in Y and J but had coffins vs suites in F; eventually it had to be redone to a common config. Interesting that QF is willing to buck that trend, with such a spendy aircraft -- it smacks of being a big mistake to me. I know this is what QF has announced, but I believe that sanity and market conditions will change things so that all A380 will be delivered in the same config.

SFO is now rumoured to become the first JQ route (when the 787s are delivered). Meanwhile F was canceled but is definitely back 1/2011 but probably not for long. Meanwhile up to 3 flights per week of LAX-SYD and LHR-SYD will be operated by 747 instead of A380 for October/November (does that count as "no F" when going from the A380 F suite to 747?)

I am sure UA will capture all of the Jet* premium cabin business if this actually happens.

I am sure UA will capture all of the Jet* premium cabin business if this actually happens.SMH gave a very favourable review of UA C service SFO-SYD and pointed out that it is 30% cheaper than QF (or any of the other airlines, for that matter) making it a "bargain". So QF may well be happy to give up on SFO, esp. given it's feed problems with AA at SFO. Very sad.
