Southwest Rapid Rewards - RR name

My brother booked a flight under Alexander as his first name but his RR account is under Alex, so it's not letting him enter his RR Account Number.

How can he add his RR # to get credit?

He will need to call in and have his name updated so that they match.

It needs to be either Alex or Alexander in both places, so he can either update the reservation to match RR, or he can update RR to match the reservation.

The overriding rule here is that in both places it should match his ID for secure flight purposes.

When I updated my profile with first and middle names for secure flight, the SWA website asked me (and displays in my profile) my "preferred" first name (which is my middle name, the name I have been known by my entire life). Yet in almost every instance when the SWA website addresses me, it continues to use my actual first name, not my "preferred" middle name.

Why even bother to asked for a "preferred" name if you're not going to use it?
