Russia - Skyteam Lounge in SVO
My search of the forum did not yield an answer, so here is my question:
I will be transiting SVO on Aerflot and have approximately 8hrs between flights. At the Skyclubs page I see ST Elite+ can access DATE lounge. However, I remember reading somewhere that the lounge access is only for two hours before the flight. two years ago I had no trouble spending time in the lounge when on the same itinerary. Can someone please advise about the situation now?
Cheers.

Hi,
2 weeks ago I had a 7 hour connection.
I spent the time in the D lounge Jazz. There is also another one called Klassika, both just as you exit security. A very nice lounge with lots of quiet spots, lots of computers, some finger foods and sandwiches, a full bar, and a shower.
You may need to stop by the transit desk to get a lounge invitation card, I have no idea if ST+ will be sufficient to the desk person.
I cannot comment on DATE since its in Terminal F

You must get the invitation card. I love the CRAB chips.

Is the DATE lounge open again in F? We've been pushed to the Amber Lounge (dungeon) the last few times through. A remodeled DATE would be nice. A closed down forever Amber would be nicer!

The new lounge in E is similarly spacious and comfortable. I have been in it only in the morning but it does have decent coffee machines and is shiny and new.

I accessed the Jazz lounge in D recently without an invitation card, by flashing my BP and STE+ card.
OP, I suggest you share your itinerary, and we will tell you exactly which SVO terminals you will be flying through. That could make all the difference.
That said, an 8 hour layover? Better bring an iPad loaded with movies. It's not that SVO is bad (I like it, like I like LGA), but there's just not that much to do. It's almost worth it to get a transit visa, take the Aeroexpress into town and see the center for five hours.
