Wyndham Rewards - Targeted promo? 50% off 10/1-12/31

Got email today w/listing of about dozen properties mainly in my area-one quad-cites,Rockford,MSN,MKE,ORD areas- book by 9/15 for 50% off BAR. Most expensive I found was 32$ w/out taxes. IF u combine w/AA's 10 stays=10K miles at properties you might stay at anyways. No registration but the code to enter in the promo box is L50. T&C at bottom says not avaiable on wkends but one property I checked, the Days Inn Elk Grove, Illlinois close to the HI/Chicago DO, is showing the reduced rate for a Fri Nite 10/15. If anyone wants more specific I can list them or PM- you have to the 15th to do bookings.

I got it too. I live in Southern California, and have no plans to travel to anywhere near that part of the country during the time the promo is valid.

Wonderfully useless. I'd think most of us who don't live anywhere near the few properties (and that seems to most of us!) are no more likely to suddenly make plans to go to that part of the country where these few properties are in the extra two weeks.

I totally do not get the point of this geographically-limited promotion being sent to everyone all over the country (without even mentoning the only geographic area where it's valid in in the email subject), and them being surprised no one is jumping on it!
