Women Travelers - Have you tried any of the NYC personal shopping tours to designer showrooms?

I've been looking at these and there is a whole variety from some that charge from several hundred a day to take you into designer showrooms that aren't open to the public to the more "mass" tours such as that that Top Secret offers for $75.

I'm good at catching sample sales and certainly have found my favorite emerging designers, but I'm interested in being able to get into places I probably can't otherwise get into on my own.

Anyone been on any of these? I'd love to find how how worthwhile they are and if a $500 one to designer backrooms is worth the money as opposed to the more general Top Secret offering.

thanks

Went on one today - Elegant Tightwad Shopping Excursion. I am not a big shopper but this was really fun! The tour guide was nice and absolutely no pressure to buy. There were 5 stores that we visited during the 3 hour tour. 2 of the shops were excellent; 1 could have definitely been skipped, and the other 2 were good. I really enjoyed myself and it was fun getting to meet some of the designers themselves. Would definitely do this again when I'm in NYC.
