WestJet Rewards - Why does Westjet not care about MAC users?

It is really surprising and quite frankly unacceptable for Westjet to not support MAC users! The world is being taken over by Iphone and I can't even do a simple web check-in. Browsing at home, especially on Safari is also problematic. AC has a great App for the Iphone and for Blackberry and frankly sometimes its the little things that sway people's decisions. Get with it - fix this long standing problem!!!

I know! I don't always take my laptop when I travel and would like to use a hotel's wi-fi to check in with my iTouch (soon to be iPhone 4...waiting...waiting.)

Even checking to see if the flight is on time would be helpful but the dropdowns didn't work for me last time I tried.

I agree - WestJet is behind the times when it comes to MAC. BUT - do what I do - I installed FireFox on my MAC and I use that when surfing on WestJet. :)

?? Safari works - although very recently - for me on westjet.com. I can also checkin on my iphone using mobile.westjet.com. The App, from what I hear, is in development.

I'll look for it next time. It didn't exist last time I tried.

The temporary insanity that the Official YYZ Carrier is somehow better returns from time to time for some individuals but I am sure that Altaflyer will roust from his stupor shortly.

I have never had a flashback since the spell was broken!:D

I was able to check in on my iPhone no problem this week. The Westjet website automatically forwarded me to the mobile site. Worked ok but not great (got dropped a few times but eventually got checked in).

I still find the new interface on the website too byzantine. Some things are simply not as straightforward as they should be. My overall impression of the airline is that it has now reached the size where maintaining good customer service consistency is going to be harder and harder to achieve. AC is pretty close to having caught up (I do fly both airlines, and have been a WS flyer from the very beginning). My recent YVR-YQR flight is a good example: 1 FA was in the old vein: exuberantly friendly, smiled all the time, etc. Just like in the old days. 1 was average but still clearly friendly. The other never cracked a smile, walked glumly down the aisle dispensing drinks and picking up garbage (and looking quite put out when I had to call her back to get the rest of the garbage I had as she walked by my row too quickly). A good airline, yes, but perhaps not as good as it once was, which is surely a factor of size and the difficulties of quality control in such situations.

Perhaps an official WestJet lurker should start a sticky thread to get feedback on their flights....just like the other airline does.

Does WestJet have an official lurker ? There are staff posting but they do not speak for the airline.

We have an employee responsible for social media but I believe that is limited to youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.

Perhaps the suggestion should be made to expand that person's mandate to include this forum on FT.

I am sure that the other airline would tell you that they have benefited from feedback given on the other forum.

I'll mention it to him the next time I see him.

What exactly are you looking to get out of having someone here? I'll throw it out there that if people asked legitimate questions seeking legitimate answers, they'd get more participation from us lurkers.
