Here's a report from a 8/15-8/16 Stay:
Hotel: The hotel is located in what used to be Scottsdale's Motor Mile about four miles south of downtown Scottsdale and about seven miles from PHX. It claims to be a "resort" which in this case means they have an interior courtyard, a small pool, a cage of birds and breakfast isn't free. Other than that, there's nothing remotely resorty about it.
Check-In: When I arrived the agent was looking at pictures on the phone of his friend who was sitting on a couch in the lobby, said friend had to point out that a guest had arrived to me. This started things off on the wrong foot but I was checked in quickly. Sadly, I was not offered water, a snack or any bonus points despite being Diamond.
Room: I'd booked a room with two twin beds hoping for an upgrade to a King but it didn't happen. Still, the room was actually fairly nice. It had a new flat screen TV, the beds were comfortable and it was large and well lit. The rooms are all exterior style facing into the courtyard. The bathroom was large and shower worked fine.
Other: As I said before, no free breakfast, though there is a restaurant that will sell you breakfast. I checked out quickly and left. A few other notes: The parking areas are ill-lighted and feel slightly unsafe. Also, the hotel is in a complex with a few stores and restaurants as well as the excellent Papago Brewing Company.
My rate was $38 and I might stay again.
