Midwest - Goshen to Indianapolis driving, highway or byway?

Did a search and came up nothing.
I have only 1 day in October, driving from Goshen to Indianapolis. If there are worthwhile thing to see, I would prefer the byway.
Goal: see fall foliage colors, country farms & farm houses. All for the sake of photography.
Since I have no prior knowledge of this region of Indiana (and the web had offered a bit but not enough), I welcome all suggestion. TIA

I'd take SR 15 to Wabash where it'll intersect SR 13, keep heading south on 13. At Elwood, take SR 28 west to US 31, which will dump you right into the city center of Indianapolis.
This is a pretty direct route which stays out of big towns, and provides a great deal of rural scenery. To the west of Somerset are some interesting forests around a lake. I believe that it's a state park. That would be worth checking out provided the weather is nice.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will tweak my route to take in some of your suggestions. The more rural the better!
Route 13 south of Goshen would take me to Lake Wawasee, an area I intend to visit. 13 south to Somerset, are there any small town/village/farms worthy of a stop for snack/gas/coffee?
Thank you for mentioning Somerset. I do see (map) there is a lake that maybe worth exploring.
Instead of taking US-31, I was thinking of passing through (stop if worthy) Arcadia, Cicero and Noblesville (Railway Museum). Is the museum worth it?
I have a hotel in the north-east of Indianapolis. So all this should work fine.
