Korea - Where to stay and what to do in Seoul (23h)
I will transfer in Seoul on an upcoming business trip. I will fly in to Gimpo at 6 pm on Friday 17 September and leave from Incheon 5 pm the next day.
I plant to go to Downtow and spend the nigth at a hotel there, but where are the real "Down town" with some bars and people and what hotel to stay at?
What to do next day?

I made a similar short trip to Seoul last year (27 hrs) in winter - enroute to Vietnam. I stayed at the Vabien II Hotel (http://tinyurl.com/2c4pqwy) ($84. I believe). It worked out very well because the airport bus stops right in front of this hotel, and the hotel was quite nice (a business hotel) and well located in the city hall area. I had made arrangements for the free Goodwill Guide service, and this was excellent. You really need help in Seoul if you don't speak Korean! My guide was a Korean grandpa who had worked as an English teacher.
The Vabien II is a 3* modern hotel, and all rooms come with kitchenette. I would return to this hotel - I doubt if you could find anything more convenient downtown.
Thanks for the information. Where is the nigthlife in the city bars etc.?
Back home again...
I stayed at Hilton Millenium. Great hotel but overpriced, but somebody else payed...:)
Next time i will try to stay at some hotel about 1 km to the north, Westin maby?
