Be aware that if you are involved in a motor vehicle accident and found to be at fault that the City of Huntington Beach intends to recoup the cost of its emergency response.

Your auto insurer will pay, and/or will fight the charge. Meanwhile, Huntington Beach is annexing Sunset Beach, which should put paid to the infamous Sunset Beach speed trap along PCH south of Seal Beach.
Actually sounds reasonable to me. If you cause an accident, and emergency crews are required, should a local jurisdiction have to pay the costs, and pass them on to the local taxpayers? This sounds like cases where those rescued by search and rescue crews in national parks have been billed for the costs. Someone's going to pay. The question is who. Hopefully one is careful driving wherever they are, not just because they might get billed if they are at fault (in addition to fines, higher insurance rates, etc.).
