Check out easyhotel.com

Clean and inexpensive with small rooms. I've stayed at the one near Earl's Court but there are several others in the London area.

In/around London, you would have to be paying that amount on the outskirts of London or main centres. Try backpackers if your trying to save money.

The Ibis chain has several properties in London, sometimes with rates around GBP45-55 depending on location.

Hotels in London will have rates in £, so for your own benefit you should consider those rates rather than a dollar amount. The exchange rates will probably fluctuate a bit between now and your travel date but the rates set by hotels shouldn't change appreciably.

£65 is at the low end of the scale for a room for two and you will need to book sharpish. If you can't get a bargain rate with Priceline then have a look at properties beyond central London: the HI Express near Limehouse DLR may have reduced rates as may the HI Express in North End Road. Try the Ibis in Commercial Street or the Travelodge in City Road.

When I am on a budget in London, I like to stay at a bed and breakfast. There are some very nice ones in the Bloomsbury area - close to a Tube station as well. I use Smoothound (http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/) to check availability.

any suggestion, pleaseHow many people? Just yourself, two as Trav+ has assumed, or more? And what are your requirements in terms of private plumbing?

As others have said, look at easyhotel, Travelodge, Premier Inn, Ibis etc

I've sometimes stayed at the the Wardonia near St Pancras (www.wardoniahotel.co.uk) which should be within your budget. Great location, SMALL rooms (but with en suite bathrooms). Don't expect breakfast, someone to carry your luggage, room service, or indeed elevators!

If you are staying several nights, the small, cramped room might become a bit too much. However, if you are going to spend most of the day out and about and only use the hotel to sleep, no problems!

You could also try browsing laterooms.com

You will easily get a decent Holiday Inn under £100 equivalent via the 2-4-1 link:

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/6c/925/en/c/1/content/dec/teaser/6c/1/en/lp/emea/twofor.html?rateCode=IDEX1&cm_mmc=partnership-_-exclusive-_-2for1-_-exclusive&PID=3641096&

Rates only show if you look for 2 nights so a longer stay needs back to back bookings. No points normally on these rates.

Anything you get via the above will be 100x better than easyHotel!

Yet again, huge thanks to Raffles for the above link, this is proving incredibly useful for my upcoming trips to London.
