Since WyndhamRewards is here and looks like s/he is listening, I want to throw in my 2 cents about the recent change to permit EVRentals to accrue WR points.
They always did accrue WR points, but only to a certain extent. Let me say the decision to permit Last Minute Deals to accrue points was a smart one.
One thing is lacking: as a fan of those Last Minute Deals I'm on your email list and sometimes get additional discounts. I like that a lot. But the additionally discounted LMDs do not accrue WR points.
Here's the rub: other branded hotel/vacation groups (Hilton, Sheraton) certainly allow non-owners to buy nights and weeks at their vacation resorts and all of those rates accrue points in the repspective program, even at the most discounted rate.
I went to EVRentals and was about to book, but chose a Hilton Vacation Club over the EVRental because it would accrue points and the EVRental would not.
You lost a booking.
It makes sense for EVRentals to permit WR point accrual at the regular rate of 10 per dollar for discounted stays of LMDs because if I spend less for the rental, WR just gives me fewer points. It all works out very fairly in the end.
Think about it, it's a logical enhancement of the WR program.
