I am flying to London in December and currently trying pick my flights.
If You are flying in coach-which would you prefer- a Boeing 767 or Airbus 330-300
is there any difference between the two as far as entertainment and space?
Thanks!
Richard

A330... with personal seat back videos, and if you're lucky to sit in the first few rows of coach, power outlets for your laptops or personal DVD players.

This would be correct if you were flying somewhere other than LHR, on a 763ER.
LHR gets 764ER aircraft, which have nose-to-tail AVOD, and a more modern system than the A330.

Agreed. The 764 is the way to go on this route. The 2-3-2 layout in coach is ideal for any size group.

Flew the 764ER to and from LHR last month. The eFX system in the 764 feels very similar to the 3000i in the A330's. They are roughly of the same generation, so not too surprising. The 3000i has an initial lag issue after first booting, but other than that not much difference. Our 764 on the way back had some serious AVOD issues. The movie programming was somehow mixed up and when you selected a movie from the menu, something completely different would start playing. Also, a couple of the games on my system repeatedly caused it to crash and reboot. There were four of us in our group and it would have been nice if we could have sat together in the same row.

First few rows? No, it's the front coach cabin. 10-28.

Isn't the 330 a bit quieter in the cabin than the 767? At least that's been my impression.

I've always found airbus's to be a bit noisier, including the 330. Once cruising they are all about the same.

I've a lot of time in exit rows on 300's and 400's, and my first words upon takeoff in a 330 for the first time (LAX-ATL, exit row) was, "Holy crap this thing is quiet!" The (PMDL) FA across from me nodded and said she really liked that about this plane. After 2 more flights in it, I'm convinced it's significantly quieter. May run a dB meter test next flight just out of curiosity.
Oh, and the restrooms are far superior, IMO.

Which route has an A330? Isn't XXX-LHR all 764ER?

The ATL-LGW flight is usually on an A333.
As to the original question, I would say it is six one way, half dozen the other. If you have a preference for LHR or LGW, then choose on airport. If you prefer 2-3-2 or 2-4-2, choose on layout. Or if one has better seating available, choose based upon the seating. Or if one has a better schedule, choose on schedule. But, at the end of the day, both planes will be pretty comparable.

This doesn't seem to be the case any more. Flightaware is showing the 764, which jives with Delta.dumb for my trip ATL-LGW in January.

According to the Delta timetable, it is only a 764 until September, when it changes back to an A330.

Interesting. Looks like it goes back to the 764 on 18 December 2010, according to Delta.dumb, which does show the A330 from 1 Sept through 17 Dec.
