This is similar to a recent post for another airport. We need to park at PIT next Monday for 9 days. Leaving on Delta flights to SYD via PIT-JFK-LAX-SYD-LAX-MEM-PIT, currently all the way in Y.
What are your suggestions for PIT hotel/parking, dining and what to do in PIT for about 6 hours Monday afternoon and evening.

The park-and-fly rates at the PIT Hyatt Place include 14 days of parking -- and you can probably use Costco certificates to save. But you may be better off just booking a room on Priceline and then parking in the regular lots - the Hyatt, Embassy Suites, and Marriott at the airport all can usually be had around $50, and combined with long-term parking (moving walkway to terminal) at $12/day, is no more expensive than the park-and-fly rates.

Regarding what to do in Pittsburgh for six hours, depending upon what time you arrive, you could visit the Senator John Heinz History Center and/or the Sports Museum in the Strip District and have dinner at one of the restaurants there. I recommend Eleven which is beside the History Center or Kaya which is further down the street. Another option is to take one of the inclines up to Mount Washington and have dinner in a restaurant overlooking the city. Haven't done this in years so cannot suggest a particular restaurant.

One more thought. Depending upon your interests, The Society for Contemporary Craft is open until 5 PM on Mondays. It is located on the same street (Smallman Street) in the Strip District as the History Center. The Society for Contemporary Craft is small, but often has interesting exhibitions and is located near Kaya.

Not just for PIT, but this website is handy for finding airport hotels with parking rates: http://www.parksleepfly.com/

The new home for this thread is now the Mid-Atlantic forum, as it has nothing to do with Delta Air Lines or the SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program.
