Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - TAM - Flight time change
Flying TAM in August IGU - GRU - CGR.
TAM just delayed my connecting flight GRU-CGR 75 minutes, giving a 3 hour plus stopover in GRU. Given I chose this flight to get into CGR early (10am vs 12pm) and there was a GOL flight arriving 10 minutes later, this is really frustrating :mad: .
Any experiences with TAM and flight changes? What's the likelihood they can get me on an earlier flight (or given nothing seems available) that they will rebook me on GOL?
Thanks in advance for responses!

Gol and TAM are competitors so they hardly transfer pax between them voluntarily.
a) You can call them and check for alternatives;
b) Fly per the new schedule and charge them on delays per ticket: 1hour is only free phone/internet; 2hours/meals and 4hours/hotel OR full refund OR next available flight regardless of carrier
If there is an earlier TAM flight you should be welcome to be on it.

I was aware of this regulation for flight delays/cancellations but would be surprised if it applied to previously advised schedule changes.

Carrier needs to prove pax have been made aware, contacted, agreed to the changes. Notifying operator, on behalf of pax, or changing reservation does not constitute making pax aware.
Anyway only after 4 hours are carriers to transfer pax to alternative options and, sometimes after pax requesting a Judge in the Court area in GRU to intermediate the agreement.
Sad, though real.
