Asia - NRT vs SIN Duty free designer handbag

does anyone know which airport (Narita or Changi) would have the better duty free price for designer (ex. Longchamp, LV, etc) handbags? Hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks!

SIN. Japanese prices are famously high.

It's SIN. There is a reason why all the Japanese ladies wait until they're in Hong Kong and Singapore to buy cosmetics and luxury goods - and they buy like crazy when they're not at home.

Once again this reminds me of the usefulness of a global arbitrage site for common stuff that travelers try to score at duty free.

I used to look globally for the cheapest perfume, real LV bags, Mikimoto pearls, 24K gold jewelry with decent clasps, etc., while taking into account true cost after initial local cost, any VAT/refund, exchange rates, and so on.

I guess you'd want to factor in the VAT refund hassle, which can be painful (CDG), just a pain (SIN), or not that bad (BKK), etc.

While NRT is notoriously high, SIN isn't much of a deal either. They come out to almost exact US pricing, minus the taxes.

Europe is, by far, the better deal.
