It is used in this forum more than any other emoticon and it is ridiculous. If anybody "rolled eyes" this much in REAL life they would end up :
Fired
Beaten senseless
Divorced
Asked to leave
Arrested
Expelled
Sent to their room
Generally disliked
It amazes me how people in THIS PARTCULAR forum find it necessary to publicly look down on other posters/ideas. I have no problem with what anybody here thinks but I do have a problem when people think so highly of themselves that they would inject a "Rolls Eyes" emoticon in every other post. From what I can tell there are a handful of experts here (you know who you are ;)) and a good number of people who really just want to help in the spirit of the FT community. Then there are the folks who are always right and know EVERYTHING there is to know about EVERYTHING. They are also usually the ones using the Roll Eyes several times a day.
Because the DL forum uses this more than any other that I can find. This post is in-fact a perfect example of why that emoticon is so offensive. I promise you would not do that to me in real life but for whatever reason some think it is acceptable to give an obnoxious and condescending look to somebody you don't know.
I use  in real life regularly, and I am gainfully employed, in possession of my full faculties, happily married, welcome anywhere that accepts Visa, not incarcerated, graduated, officed, and loved by all.

  Where does a poster like this OP come from?
The  is particularly suitable for this forum since the airline itself has indulged in some of the most  inducing behavior possible.
The company's mere act of devaluing the SkyMile in order to facilitate the repayment of the huge amount of them that it owes Amex is definitely a  event.
As I mentioned in another thread, DL is adding zeroes in the rich tradition of Zimbabwe and the Weimar Republic and we are certainly entitled to look at what is going on with lots of .
And I can do no more than endorse the signature of one of my favorite FTers who, for good reason and too many like this OP, does not come over here very often. It reads:
 will get you through times with no money better than money will get you through times with no .

This OP has no problem with Roll Eyes at Delta. I do have a problem, Rolling Eyes at people who ask a question of this forum. This is NOT a Delta Airlines sponsored site and people should be allowed to ask questions and yes, imagine this, voice their opinion.
This OP has been on this board for a very long time and never found it necessary to Roll Eyes at anyone here.

I little like Meg Whitman out here in Ca...did I say that out loud? Yes I have indeed Flip Flopped. I still hate the Roll Eyes when directed at an innocent poster but there is no fighting the FT tide on this one.

Even the most prolific users of  have a reaction somewhat like  when the sentiment of  is directed at someone not guilty of -inducing behavior. You can go ahead and break down your personal barrier...just click the  instead of spelling it out. You know, like that large airport in Spain,.

I'll take it, maybe my pet python can learn to love that CRJ100/200 GRK to ATL. I know I can't.
I am 99% sure anyone flying that route is:
1. not buying their own ticket
2. Duped into buying it by some cheap fare.
I like the $150 award change fee. :)
I like the fact that DL hardly has any low award levels available.
DL's web site is awesome. It's so easy to navigate and redeem my miles. ;)
I can earn a similar amount of miles flying other carriers, and find it easier to redeem awards on those carriers. :p
DL's revenue management system is so much superior to NW. :D
I guess I fail to see why, when one or a few people are irritated by something, a blanket ban is called for. Whatever happened to just getting on with your day?
(I was at a party the other night with a generally nice, reasonable person who holds very firm political views. She was detailing her irritation with certain news organizations and sputtered, "There has to be a way of getting these stupid people shut down." She wasn't kidding. So now I know what Rush and  have in common.)

My "Ban" is on use of the Roll Eyes on other FT'ers only and particularly new FT'ers. I should have been more specific but the post does get into why the Roll Eyes annoy me and it is not really even me (except this thread I don't think I have ever had somebody give me the )

There is an interesting argument to be made for whether or not a forum FAQ would mitigate concerns about  treatment of newbies. CO does not seem to have as bad of a noob problem, and the FAQ there is outstanding. It even has its own companion development thread, with a dedicated handle. Other fora may do well to leverage the knowledge of their superstar members.

As I am sure Obscure2K will point out shortly this is not a DL topic and will be moved to Omni or closed...but it was some of the better reading and laughs I have got out of FT in a while so it was worth it. You are right though, my haste to name the thread caused this to be a 5 page, 63 reply, 1000+ view thread destined to die in the ether. But, as Stan from South Park says: " I guess I learned something today, and that is to embrace the , no, celebrate the ...."

Just as airlines have special programs for people who are afraid to fly, perhaps FT should have one to acclimate those who are afraid to ask "stupid questions".

Giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming that the initial request is legitimate, the new home for this thread is now the Suggestions forum.
By the way, as far as I know, “smilies” cannot be customized to any particular forum; that is, if they are indeed banned, every FlyerTalk forum will not have use of any particular “smilie” anymore.
Thank you.
