Question.
I will be traveling with a Chow chow from DFW to EWR next Monday the 16th. I do have the 0935hrs flight arriving at EWR at 1435hrs. The issue is the temperature, the forecasted arrival temperature at EWR is 90F (pets can't travel above 85F). The latest flight at 1845hrs (DFW temperature is expected at 90F for that time) While the arrival temperature at EWR is 78F. What do I do?
Any recomendations? and yes, I do need to take my pet with me.
thanks

Most airlines will refuse this checked pet this time of the year due to the weather. If they do and there are any delays on the runway your Chow will most likely be experiencing extremely high temperatures in the cargo hold. You say you must take your dog, but is it really worth the risk? I urge you to reconsider! @:-)

Looks like you're on AA. As you probably know, their limit is 85 degrees.

Right now, weather.com shows a forecast high for 8/16 of 84. So you may be ok. Of course, forecasts change, and I'd be nervous about this too. One thing you might try is to see if you can get into the earlier flight - there's a 7 am departure that gets into EWR at 11:20 am. If the forecast is borderline, those few hours may well make the difference.

Good luck.
