Hello everyone,

A group I belong to is holding their annual mtg @ Disney's Contemporary this fall & even the mtg planner doesn't seem to know whether Disney holds or actually charges 1 night's stay on the credit card @ the time of booking; does anyone here know? I suspect they actually charge, which is fine as I will just hold off making my reservation until the last minute. Just tried calling the reservations number they gave us but the office is closed.

Thanks!

You have a choice, even though it's not offered. You can make the reservation and pay the 1 night deposit within 30 days or you can pay for it when it's confirmed. But, they don't mention that and only ask for your cc info.

You will also be charged in full for all the days you have reserved at check in. This is something they started doing about 5 or so years ago.

If this is a group reservation, the policies may be different. But I seem to recall when I attended a conference, I had to pay for the 1 night when I reserved.

Packages I seem to recall requires a downpayment at booking and balance of full deposit 45 days prior to arrival, but with an opportunity to cancel or change subject to fee. We also booked one night to begin with and required a deposit, but we changed that out no problem without a fee when the resort had the one nighter open up and we didn't have to move resorts. Double check policies to make sure.
