Hi, my husband and I are looking for a nice relaxing week to break up the craziness of the holidays... we've been to Cancun a few times and really enjoy it, but would like to check out Cozumel this time. I'm starting from square one on the planning, so would appreciate any recommendations on a nice AI resort with a decent beach, but that is for adults only (sorry - no offense to those with kiddos). Any suggestions? Neither one of us are certified to dive, but would be interested in doing the resort certification/dive trip. Thanks in advance!

I know you asked specifically about Cozumel, but IME it isn't really known for good beaches, if that's what you're mostly looking for. More coral reef, and a place for serious diving. I've stayed once, and am returning this October for a week, here www.royalhideaway.com. 16 and up only, great food for a AI, on the quiet side, not a lot of late night entertainment. It's in Playacar, just outside Playa Del Carmen, approximately a 45 minute van ride from CUN.
Just a suggestion, might fit in well with what you're looking for. You can actually see Cozumel from the beach in front of RH, and can book dive excursions from there too.

I suggest you look on tripadvisor under Cozumel forum and pose your question there. You will definitely get informed answers there!
