Emirates Skywards - Why doesnt EK have a flight to ORD!

I would love to fly EK. But it doesnt have a flight to my nearest airport ORD. My understanding is that they used to have a flight way back in 2002. Does anybody know if they are planning to starting ORD service again soon?

Probably because EY does (from AUH). Notice that EK doesn't have flights to ATL, IAD and ORD - all airports where another carrier has a direct to AUH or DXB. The only exception is JFK, where EY also flies.

That would make 2 pax from EMA - must be worth them putting a route on now! (Let's make a direct to Manila and Bangalore though while we're at it)

An HKG-EMA direct route would be perfect... I might make it home to the UK more than my current 6 times a year!

Yes, it will get fifth freedom traffic rights through DXB-USA. Because ORD does not have enough leaks the gate space available. Maybe EK will have reconsider to start service to ORD sometimes in the future.
