I'm in Williamsburg, VA for a very brief time. Never been here before.

A quick side trip to Virginia Beach sure sounds tempting. If I headed down there on I-64, does anyone have a suggestion as to where to park for a short stroll on the boardwalk on the beach? I'd like to spend about an hour in the area, maybe have supper at a boardwalk restaurant.

I know Williamsburg is loaded with sites as well. I'll be taking them in on another trip later.....

Thanks!

I frequent VA Beach at least once I year for the last 10 years. If you are not staying at a Hotel on Atlantic Avenue, the only option would be to find street parking. The nearest street parking would be on Pacific Ave, which is one block from the beach. Street parking is meter only and they will ticket for expired meters. The trouble is finding a parking space. There are a few businesses who offer paid parking, but there is a walk of at least one block to the beach. Some VA beach residents offer paid parking at their house...but beware, I wouldn't personnally suggest doing that. Good luck finding a parking space. :)

Eating - my favorite place to eat is Rudee's Inlet. It is a seafood buffet right on the water. RockFish grill is nice that is located inside the Boardwalk Hotel and the restaurant at the Hilton is very nice. Once you walk the Boardwalk (several miles long) you'll find plenty of restaurants to choose from. Enjoy your trip!
