While in Tucson this past spring I think I tried to dine at every taco truck I saw. Virtually every stop was well rewarded with terrific tacos & salsas.

For some reason I have never been to any of the food trucks in Chicago (at least not that I can remember:)). I know there are African food trucks frequented by cabbies, I've heard about trucks that serve Puerto Rican fare near Humbolt Park, and I know there are Hispanic food trucks but I guess with all the tacquerias around I never seem to stop at one of the trucks.

I just read about a new 'upscale' food truck called Gaztro-wagon coming to Chicago www.gaztro-wagon.com
Serving some delicious sounding items.

If anyone has feedback on any of these food trucks, I'd love to hear it.

As that Huffington Post article says, the reason you don't really remember them is because they're *very* limited. No prep or cooking allowed. Gaztro-wagon is starting as a small shop in Edgewater (on Clark by Ridge), hoping to have a truck soon if they can get the laws changed.

"Chicago's tough laws state that for a food truck to be in operation no cooking, cutting or food prep of any kind can take place on board..." :(:td:

thanks for the article Big Mo

I just flew to/from Tokyo on NH the other week and their in-flight magazine had a really good article (as in-flight mags go) about this sort of street food in San Francisco, LA and NYC (at least I think that was the third city). Now I know why Chicago wasn't feature. Shame.
