Florida - Best way from Port Everglades cruise term. to FLL?

After a cruise, how best to get back to FLL? I know going on the cruise, the hotel shuttle will drop us...

As noted, most of the hotels offering Port Everglades shuttle service only offer it for departures, not or arrivals. There is no bus (Broward County Transit) service, due to security regulations - from the BCT FAQ page:

Q. Is there a bus or shuttle that travels to Port Everglades?

A. There is no BCT bus or shuttle that travels directly to Port Everglades. You can travel on Route 1, and get off at State Road 84 and Federal Highway, and take a cab to your Port Everglades destination, or you can travel on Route 40, get off at 17th Street Causeway and Eisenhower Boulevard, and take a cab to your Port Everglades destination.

I understand that if you are renting a car at the airport, some of the rental car companies will pick you up at the Port.

Be careful if you get a cab when you leave the ship. They appear to want only to take you to the airport. Last time we took a cab to a specific place, the driver had no idea where it was. We tried 3 different cabs and eventually ended up where we didn't want to be! Apparently there are no requirements to be a cab driver in FLL.

Just wanted to report back that it was $15 + tip from Port Everglades to FLL airport. Easy! :)
