bsdstone,
I'm really not a golf fan, but every time that I see a golf offer with SPG Moments, I think of you!
In one of Delta's earliest SkyMiles auctions, I once won a trip for 3 days of snow skiing and lessons with pros in SLC, but I had to give it up due to a work conflict once the dates were announced. Even the DL staff were disappointed for me because they all thought that it was the best and most unique of all of their auctions so far.
Nowadays, the final price on most SkyMiles auctions are just depressing:
90,500 Miles for 2 one-day adult passes to SeaWorld
103,438 Miles for a $100 GC to Outback
They do also still get some once-in-a-lifetime kind of experiences, but rarely for a fair price in the end, IMO.
Anyway, if any other FT golfers want to join bsdstone in a round with Faxon, there are 5 more of those packages available as a fixed price auction (http://auction.starwoodhotels.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=127589231&prmenbr=67280009&aunbr=127935941&topcat=Y).

I always forget to check the website to find out when new auctions have been listed. Is there any sort of e-mail list? I just checked the website but didn't see one.

If you have the checkbox checked for Promotional Offers emails on your spg.com profile, then you might get emails once or twice a month with the current SPG Moments auctions. But I don't think that there's an email list to notify you as soon as something new is listed.
Just 2 more packages remain for golfing with Faxon.
New auction:
Red Carpet Weekend at the Primetime Emmy® Awards (http://auction.starwoodhotels.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/CategoryDisplay?cgrfnbr=114371650&cgmenbr=67280009)
This includes 2 nights in a suite at SLS.

I did see the Emmy's one. This is in general a lot more than normal - it includes the hotel, spa, meal.
I'd love to win this (for my wife) but suspect it will go over 100,000. Anyone care to guess based on past auctions how high this will go? If it were just the passes to the event and after party, I would have guessed maybe 80,000. But with the other stuff...?...

Those are just insane. What is driving such low valuation of Delta miles?

Ignorance? Futility?
So there isn't some systematic reason why this exists, super easy to get points or super hard to redeem?

Thinking about doing this one too...my wife might kill me if I do though...she likes to spend my points on hotel stays! ;)

WOW...that package is awesome! I'll be curious to see what it goes for...well north of 100,000 points I'll bet.
I was excited to see that Delta has an auction site...I have some miles that I doubt I'll use, so I'd like to dump them...but at those price points, I doubt I'd get a sandwich for my 30,000 miles! :(

I really don't know. All it takes is two morons to drive up the prices in an auction. Discussed (a little bit) here in the DL forum:

Wow, it is worse than expected you can even buy gift cards at a lower rate.
It is rare that I see an SPG auction I think is worth the cost, but at least I think the point totals are reasonable.

Really?
I think the SPG auctions are usually great deals...5,000 points to attend some great concerts? Or the Sting concerts and back stage access seem like great deals to me...and well, obviously the golf! :D

Absolutely INCREDIBLE day!
Weather was perfect at Rhode Island Country Club, Brad Faxon is about the nicest guy you'd ever meet, and not a half bad golfer either! ;)
Moments may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I can tell you this is the third one I've done, at it is a big factor in keeping my business with SPG.
Well done SPG, well done!^^^

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a great time! I personally have not redeemed an SPG Moment yet, but it does pique my curiosity every once in a while...
