Best Western Rewards - Travel Card User ID ?

I am a complete novice when it comes to Best Western and the GCC program. But I have a trip planned for early August that may involve several nights at BW properties and the current promotions have caught my eye.

So I created a BW account. And then logged in and attempted to purchase a couple of Travel Cards ( to take advantage of the bonus offer ). When I go to the Check Out page it is asking me to Log In again. But when I do so it tells me that my information is incorrect. I have tried to Log In using both my BW number and e-mail address with the same result.

So my question is, does it want me to create a completely seperate Acount and User ID ( different from the BW Account ) for the Travel Cards ? Or am I just entering something incorrectly when I attempt to make the Travel Card purchase ?

If I had been slightly more ambitious I would have found the information by looking at the Terms and Conditions of the Travel Card offer. But it hadn't occured to me to look there.
