Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - Will a RI extend a good rate?
When I made travel plans for Greensboro there were parts of the trip that were not clear. Now I know that I will be arriving a day early and if I keep current reservations will have to change hotels 3 times during 7 nights.
So when I reach Greensboro tomorrow by car, can I ask the RI manager to extend a good rate - a senior rate of $84- that I have for Friday night and stay at least Thursday (15th) and preferably all the way through the 21st?
Is it worth the effort to ask about this or do I just do the three hotel shuffle (e.g. Comfort Suites, RI, CY) to keep the fare below $90?

It is entirely up to the GM for that property. It never hurts to ask as they worst they can say is no. At least you've got backup plans if it doesn't work.

+1. Just get to the right person (the GM) and I'd say your odds are 65-35%. I used to think the RI brand was universally the most accommodating Marriott hotel but I've I ran into a bad spate of militant FD clerks lately. The time I had to get the GM involved it was quickly resolved.
I was not able to speak directly to the GM when I came in, but here's how it went: $84 for tonight and tomorrow night then the weekend rate of $99 for Sat - Thurs.
$99 was the ceiling for the sponsor of those 5 days (S-T) and with the manager's reception (M-W) I should even out when I get reimbursement for the room and per diem. My backup reservation was an old Courtyard at $89 which included breakfast.
