Suggestions - Did Your First Post Include Some Essential Information?

I wonder if the board could be configured to ask some simple questions of first-time posters, so they can edit before that first post goes up? That advice might include:
1. Did you tell your home airport?
2. Did you tell your preferred destination (or at least area of the world)?
3. Is there a particular airline that you want to fly?

It seems as if I see a lot of first-timer requests for advice on MilesBuzz lack these items.

I know of no current customization options for vB at this time that would accommodate such a feature and know exactly what situations you are referring to. We'll soon be testing a concept of Ambassadors for FlyerTalk who will likely have more first time direct contact with these newer members and maybe that's where we start with monitoring this type of information to better serve the answers to questions if there are no technical solutions available.

While many first-time information requests should provide this information but don't, many do provide it, and many information requests from FTers with lots of posts don't. Newness isn't the sole determining factor.

Also, not every first post is a request for information. They're also "who I am" posts (often moved to the CommunityBuzz intro thread after being posted elsewhere), answers to questions about the newbie's geographic area, comments in focused forums such as Travel Photography, and so on. Requiring someone who posts helpful information about Paris or Philadelphia to tell us their preferred airline isn't useful.

Personally, I think FTers already do a sufficient job of asking these questions, usually in the first few posts after an information request that doesn't answer them. Some of us get a bit snarky, but that's the Internet for you!
