Mom's flying into BNA from SNA on 7/21.

Any heads up suggestions for me to pass along? How's the hike from gates to rental cars (Hertz)?

Thanks in advance-

No different from the hike to the curb. The car counters are on the lowest level. Top level is the concourse level, middle level is baggage claim, car rental counters are just below baggage claim down the escalators or elevator.

Depending on the arrival gate, the walk can be very short or moderately long.

Here are the terminal maps: http://www.flynashville.com/maps/terminal.aspx

Welcome to Nashville!

It's easy as pie, depending on construction in the terminal. For almost all gates you will turn right as you get off the WNcplane and follow the crowd. There are a couple of gates where you will turn left as they are near the end of the terminal near the end of the terminal. When you pass the exit TSA go to the left of the grand piano and then bear back to the right. Take the down escalator. WN claims are 3-5 to your left, and are generally accurately posted over each conveyor in a timely manner. When you have your luggage, take the escalator down behind you on either side of the small sound stage to the car rental area. These escalators were blocked for construction 2 weeks ago. If so, just use the elevators. Most of the cars are through the doors next to the rental car desks and across the street in the lowest level parking garage.

It's hotter than hell. Tell Mom not to wear any turtlenecks. :D

(but generally, our airport is pretty easy to navigate. She'll run into a little traffic maybe on I-40 on the way to downtown, but it shouldn't be too bad outside morning rush.)
