View Full Version : Who replaces Radioman on TB?

Don't even ask me why TB topics cropped up in my mind when I had insomnia last night & was doing the proverbial toss/turn thing. Truthfully me being on a beach somewhere w/ goodlooking guys dropping grapes into my mouth & serving me glasses of champagne was what I'd prefer to have been thinking of first & foremost. ;)

But since evidently they came in second (although I did go back to sleep w/ a smile on my face after skipping past first topic to 2nd :D), the thing that cropped up before then was - who replaces Radioman now that he's no longer on TB? Note, this isn't a discussion of him being on or not, but the process to replace him.

I just looked at the FAQ for this forum & it says:

"H. Replacement
i. In the case of vacancy on the TalkBoard, the replacement shall be the candidate who received the highest vote in the most recent election without having been elected. A second vacancy on TalkBoard would be filled by the next candidate in line, and this process will continue until there are no more candidates available. If it reaches that point, the FlyerTalk Host will appoint a member.
ii. Once the date for a new election has been announced, no vacancy on TalkBoard will be filled until that election. At that point, the results of the new election will determine who will fill vacancies."

Since we don't have a new election date, who's next on the list & when will he or she be added to TB? Or did I miss an announcement?

Cheers.

Per this thread - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkboard-topics/1020723-2009-talkboard-election-results.html - it would be Jackal if he's still interested in participating.

I'm sure HOM is reaching out to him - but some folks may be on vacation because of the recent holiday.

Good luck to jackal. ^ Seems an awfully short stint until the late fall/early winter elections however.

Radioman was elected in 2009 - so Jackal's term would last as long as Radioman's original term - which is through the 2011 election cycle.

The TB members whose terms are up in the fall would be nsx, skywalkerLAX, Spiff, and myself.

Indeed--the HOM did contact me, and after the holiday weekend, I was asked to place a virtual hand on the virtual holy book of my choice and virtually swear an oath of allegiance to FlyerTalk. ;)

I look forward to serving the community as best I can. :)

Would that virtual holy book have been Mileage Pro: The Insider's Guide to Frequent Flyer Programs by Randy Petersen & Tim Winship? :D Let me offer my congratulations and best wishes, jackal. :)

On a more serious note is TB's newest member able to vote on the current motion on access to MR Discission forum? Just curious.

I am, and I am currently doing a lot of reading to catch up on the issue so I can make an informed decision. Look for a post in the appropriate place soon. :)

Congratulations jackal! Hopefully your virtual hand, the virtual holy book and virturally swearing are the extent of your experience with anything virtual. I can not fathom a virtual drink of Woodford.

Congrats, jackal!

It seems you are up for a busy start (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkboard-topics/1094706-motion-passed-mileage-run-access-logged-members-only-restriction.html) though. ;)

I would say, "Congratulations!" But, then again...I have served on the TalkBoard, so maybe, "My condolences" is a better choice. :D

I exist only virtually, so virtual Woodford tastes good to me.
