iDine/Rewards Network - Can third persons register CC's to MY idine account?

I have a buddy who can't be bothered with FF programs until he needs a free ticket/UG from me. Every time, he is appreciative and promises to take FF programs more seriously. It never happens.

BUT, he is willing to register his credit cards to my AAdvantage dining account. and he dines at certain idine restaurants with some regularity. Cards are in his name, and bill to his billing address - in no way are they my cards.

Will the card registration process permit this, allowing me to recoup a small portion of the miles I've helped him accumulate?

Thank you.

Try it, there is no reason that I know of that will cause the CC registration to fail...it isn't in RN's interest to try to match up credit card addresses w/ FF account addresses, so do it and report back.

It works! I have 7-8 people's credit card numbers on various accounts! ;)

I've also helped friends quickly get to Elite status by registering my cc on their account because there is a take out place near me where I can get a coke for $1.29.

I can confirm it works, one of my cards is linked to my mother's account to keep the miles alive.

Another approach that works with others' cards are when your cooperative partner or ? has a copy of your credit card and the dupe card uses the same CC number. (Not all do, of course.)

By the same token, the partner or ? will not be able to use that card for their own RN account.
