Hi Everyone:
My daughters in law and I are driving up to Maryland for several reasons: first to take an elderly uncle out for lunch, then to go around the inner harbor, and then to have a great Maryland dinner before leaving for Atlantic City the next morning..
We are looking for a good restaurant for dinner (crab and such) and an inexpensive motel/hotel not too far out of Baltimore in the direction of AC.
Any recommendations for the restaurant or motel would be much appreciated. We are not familiar with the geography of the area so don't know what direction to go in at the end of the day.
thanks in advance

Any recommendations for the restaurant

If you want a true Baltimore crab dinner, my favorite place in town is L.P. Steamers (http://www.lpsteamers.com/). It's a local hole in the wall, paper covering the tables, eat with your hands kind of place. You're guaranteed a great meal and most likely a good time to boot, and all at a fair price.

If you're looking for something a bit more "done up", you can try Obrycki's in Fells Point, or Phillip's on the Inner Harbor.

Thanks so much. I was worried because I posted this in the wrong place, cannot double post and couldn't find a moderator. I am very appreciative of the info and will print it and take it along.

It will take you out of the way a bit,but this is not far from the airport, with lots of hotel options and easy access to 695 and 95 to get to AC the next morning.

Q.what's an AC?
A.before leaving for Atlantic City the next morning

Mr. Bill's in Essex for crabs. Easy access to northbound 95, tons of inexpensive motels right there.
