Starwood Preferred Guest - Ambassador Guaranteed Upgrades??

I am curious as to what benefits the SPG Ambassador designation really provides as far as upgrades vs. the rest of us existing platinum members. Can people with ambassador status answer the following:

How often are you upgraded to a suite or better and not just a premium room?

Percent of Time
0-20%
20-40%
40-60%
60-80%
80-100%

Just as an FYI, there is no such thing as "SPG Ambassador designation".

Some guests of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide have an Ambassador assigned to them. But, that has nothing to do with being an elite member of Starwood Preferred Guest.

I think spence5580 is confusing the ambassador trial program (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11229980-post25.html) with an actual SPG tier.

I am aware that this is not an actual level of the SPG rewards program, but judging by a lot of the posts in other threads it seems like people who have been "assigned an ambassador" or "admitted to the program" receive a higher frequency of upgrades than regular platinums.

I am simply trying to determine whether or not this is in fact true.

I can't imagine that you'll get a representative sample to answer this with any reasonable degree of certainty. So much of upgrade success depends on the particular hotels that a member visits, how long they stay, etc.

Not sure how you would quantify this data point, but my percentage of suite upgrades has gone up significantly since I was given a Starwood Ambassador. I'm guessing she goes out of her way to ensure room assignments and upgrades for me.

I do know that ever since she was assigned to me, I have noticed that my room keys are almost always at a seperate area of the front desk waiting for my check-in, often times marked "VIP".
