I have two reservations on hold right now for a November 2-night stay: two suites at the Marriott Custom House and a one bedroom suite connecting to a traditional room at the Boston Sheraton (in the north tower; the newly renovated one -- I'm told that the 1BRs are only in this tower).
I can't find anything about the Custom House on FT after 2007, but tripadvisor has good reviews.
I don't collect Marriott points... I have them transfer directly into AAdvantage miles. I'd much rather get starpoints (2x for Gold and I'll pay on my SPG AMEX), so definitely a +1 for the Sheraton.
One concern I have with the Custom House is that they can't guarantee a suite with a door separating the bedroom from the living room... and if it doesn't have a door, then it has stairs, which is not the best for a 1 year old... I don't want to have to bring a baby gate.
Both locations are suitable for me -- would be fun to be near Quincy Market and the waterfront, but also good to be connected to the Pru and Copley malls in case it's too cold for my son.
I'm leaning towards the Sheraton, but wanted to see if anyone had a strong opinion either way.
We've stayed twice at the Element Lexington and it's been great. But, we want/need to be in the city this trip. I checked other hotels too, but these two seemed to be the best for our needs and priced right. There's only a $75 difference between the two properties for the whole trip.
Thanks,
Doug
