Travel with Pets - Airline with the largest in-cabin pet space

Can anyone offer any information about what airline has the largest in-cabin pet accomodation? I have a small dog (20 pounds) who would fit easily, but when I read the size limits of United, it sounds as though she won't be able to go on board. My only alternative is to drive 1000 miles, since I won't ship her as cargo and there are summer embargos anyway.

I don't believe any airline has a designated pet space in the cabin. The size restrictions are going to be pretty much the same with all of them, unfortunately. They ride with you at your seat, hence the tight restrictions.
